Promises, Promises

Oh hello, poor, sad, neglected, little blog.  It’s been months since I’ve posted anything.  I won’t make excuses, but I will try to get you updated.

So first of all, not too long after I wrote my last post (mid April), I decided that I’d had enough of my job.  I was having panic attacks and just generally feeling miserable having to go to work every day, so I gave my supervisor an ultimatum.  I said that either I was going to start working part-time and teleworking for the majority of that, or I was going to quit.  Not shockingly, my demands weren’t met, and so I said goodbye to the daily grind (at least for now).  I consider myself incredibly lucky to be able to take a break and refocus, and I wouldn’t be able to do it if it weren’t for my amazingly understanding husband.

What now, you ask?  I’m going to try something new!  My plan is to get into graphic art.  That’s what all burnt-out microbiology majors do, right?  Uh-huh.  I’ve taken a few baby steps toward this goal, and I’ve even designed two things for actual businesses!  The first was a logo for my brother- and sister-in-law’s homebrew store.

Check them out on Facebook by clicking the image above.

And the second was an ad for The Top Shelf Online to go in Retro Lovely Magazine.
